What is the 4/48 Zelda Marathon?
The 4/48 Zelda Marathon is an fan-run gaming event and fundraiser. It has garnered thousands of viewers who watch and interact with us as we play through 9 games from the Legend of Zelda series for days at a time.
During the Marathon, you'll find:
- a live stream of gameplay and those of us in the room
- a chat room through which you can interact with us and other viewers
- eight young adults living the most unhealthy week of their year
This year, the 4/48 will once again be in support of Child's Play Charity. Child's Play provides toys, books, and games to patients of childrens' hospitals worldwide.
To learn more about the Marathon, check out the About Us page, where you can also find a list of our partners and media sponsors.
Until then, be sure to read more about Child's Play, view our Twitch channel, or drop us an email!
4/48 Marathon Blog
Three days and counting! Posted December 23, 2013 by admin No commentsThis blog has been pretty barren this year due to all the updates we’ve been making, but I wanted to make one last post summarizing everything before the marathon.
The marathon officially starts at 9:00 AM EST on Friday, December 27. Our play order is Skyward Sword, Majora’s Mask, The Legend of Zelda, Twilight Princess, Link’s Awakening, The Wind Waker HD, A Link to the Past, Adventure of Link, and finally, Ocarina of Time. Of course this might change, depending on how exhausted people are at certain times. If we raise enough money to 100% a game before we start it, we’ll just do a typical 100% run, but if we reach the milestone after we start a game, we’ll go back and get all the collectibles whenever we feel is best, but before we finish OoT. In other words, we won’t stick the Master Sword in Ganon’s face until the marathon is actually over.
Finally, we’re going to be doing a lot of fun things that aren’t really written down on the website. For one, we have at least six marathon-flavored shirts, designed by the team, that we’ll be giving away during the event. Additionally, we’ll be doing varous challenges in exchange for donations, things like the cinammon challenge, and eating habanero peppers and whole onions. We’ll also be taking requests.
All of us on the team are really excited to be doing this again, and we can’t wait to get started. Feel free to post a comment here or on our facebook group if you have questions, but otherwise we’ll see you Friday morning!
